Brand and design system

The Orbit brand system.

One identity for the website, the Windows app and the Chrome extension: the logo, its icons, colour, type, tokens and the components built from them.

Construction of the Orbit symbol on a 24 unit gridr 9.470°core r 3.25 × 5stroke 2.6024

(02)Symbol

Built on a 24 unit grid, like the icons around it.

Orbit
A circle of radius 9.4, stroked at 2.6 with round ends, open for 70 degrees at the top right.
Core
A solid circle of radius 3.2 at the centre.
Satellite
A 5 by 5 square centred on the orbit at 45 degrees, in violet. It is the only colour in the mark.
Wordmark
A monoline drawn with the same geometric bowls and stems as the template's type, with a square i dot.
  • Don't rotate the symbol
  • Don't close the orbit
  • Don't change the colours
  • Don't stretch the wordmark

(03)App icons

Legible from the taskbar to the tab.

The symbol on a rounded ink tile. On ink the satellite turns a lighter violet, and on the violet favicon tile everything turns white.

In context

(04)Colour

Ink on paper, one violet accent.

Black type on white, hairline grids and violet used sparingly: for the satellite, for focus and for things that are happening. Click a swatch to copy it.
